A few words on courage and your journey.

unnamed (2)

It takes courage to stand up for your dreams.

There’s a hell of a lot of risk in it.

You may experience disappointment.

The people around you might not “get it”–or worse ridicule you.

It may seem like with every step forward, you take two steps back.

It can be lonely.

You might expend resources faster than your rate of return.

Present circumstances may gnaw away at your faith like a piranha.

You may have to make gut wrenching decisions.

Then there’s the daily temptation to just quit, crawl under a rock, and die.

You could allow these realities to wreck you, but here’s a better option:

Let the risks you’ve taken be irrefutable evidence of your courage.

Take a moment to think back on all of the things you have done in the name of becoming a Mom.

Own this truth.

Most people retreat at the first sign of adversity.

It takes guts to give yourself a shot. (Seriously)

It takes guts to invest in optimizing your fertility.

It takes guts to believe in your miracle.

It takes guts to keep saying YES to your dreams.

This is proof of what you are made of.

You are more than your present circumstances.

You are more than your current results.

Let the courage you have demonstrated on this journey fuel your confidence this week.

If you take a risk on anything, let it be in furtherance of your dreams.

Lots of love,

Intrigued? Here’s an exercise to take this to the next level…

Acknowledge your courage.

Take a moment to make a list of all of the things you have done in the past month in the name of making your dreams of being a Mom come true.

Did you select fresh fruit and greens over a greasily delicious fried nightmare?

Did you work on your fertility mindset with your coach?

Did you meet with your fertility doctor?

Did you give yourself a shot? (Much respect for that!)

Have you invested in quality time with your partner?

Let this list remind you of all of the things you have done to support your dream. This list is tangible evidence of your courage. Read it and revere it–it speaks to the heart of who you really are.

Stretch yourself. Remember, it’s about progress, NOT perfection.

If this exercise has made a difference in your day, comment and tell me about it. xoxoxo
